Cindy Lyndin has extensive background in non-profit management, providing development, training and guidance to four arts organizations’ and two social service agencies’ Boards of directors.

As Executive Director for The Phoenix Theater Company and The Portland Symphonic Choir, she guided them in the process of internal restructuring and new strategies for building public awareness, as well as helping to create policy, build relationships, refine budgets, negotiate artistic and union contracts, and develop new marketing plans and funding sources. Her expertise in public relations, advertising, project development and coordination, event management, graphic design, and business administration has been welcome in the non-profit arts arena, where, under her guidance, the Portland Symphonic Choir enjoyed a 33% increase in concert attendance, a 34% increase in individual donations, and a 240% increase in foundational income within a year’s time.

Ms. Lyndin’s background in advertising and publishing includes design, layout, copy writing, ad-copy writing, printing coordination, and distribution on four Portland periodicals and two monthly commercial newsletters, in addition to having created web sites and promotional materials for four Portland businesses and assisted with several others.

Cindy’s experience with various quasi- and local government entities began with her work at Central Northeast Neighbors, one of Portland’s renowned Neighborhood Coalitions, where she had opportunities to interact regularly with City Council members and City staff. She has served on the Tri-County Batterer’s Intervention Provider Network and the Multnomah County Family Violence Coordinating Council’s subcommittee on Stalking (including a Stalking Speaker’s Bureau), and has been a mediator for the Multnomah County Circuit Court.

In addition to teaching classes focused on improving awareness of domestic violence, Ms. Lyndin has taught classes and workshops for performers, in Singing Technique, Musical Theater, and Audition Technique, privately and at Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Regional Conferences, and local theater schools throughout the Portland area for over 30 years. She has provided award-winning vocal direction for high school and community musical theater productions and is the author of a pocket book of audition techniques, “An Audition Checklist…How to Get the Part (and what to do with it after you get it)”. She is a member of both the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actor’s Guild.

For 13 years, Cindy performed professionally as half of Lyndin & Warren, THE Song & Dance Team and can occasionally be seen in Portland theater productions and her solo cabaret show, Ledges.

Cindy has received formal recognition and honors from a variety of private organizations and City of Portland leaders and bureaus.
